A little over a year after the release of BioWare's Star Wars: KotOR, a direct sequel was released from The Outer Worlds and Fallout: New Vegas developer Obsidian Entertainment called Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords that followed an exiled Jedi and must return to fight the Lords of the Sith. Insert the game disc, and ignore any auto play screens. The Steam version was updated in 2015 with many improvements not available in the other releases.
As such, the next era will be set in the Old Republic, a well-known setting first explored in the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic games and one that may start with a game once again. Knights of the Old Republic Collection includes both Knights of the Old Republic and Knights of the Old Republic II The Sith Lords. Disney's era of Star Wars hit the ground running in the beginning but was unable to hold the momentum as films like Solo: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker failed to meet the expectation set by Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
